Invincible Colliery

Cullen Valley Mine

Coalpac has owned and operated mines in the Lithgow area since 1989. Coalpac's aim is to fully realise the potential of the extensive coal reserves of Invincible Colliery and Cullen Valley Mine through innovation and efficiency. These operations provide a base from which to expand activity in the Western District.

To this end, in February 2008, Coalpac purchased the Lithgow Coal Company whose assets include the Cullen Valley Mine and immediately resumed operations.

Coalpac is implementing its strategic plan to facilitate production of a significant volume of export quality thermal coal. In summary, these plans include:

  • Consolidation and expansion of the existing Cullen Valley Mine and Invincible Colliery operations to produce up to a total of 3.5Mtpa of saleable product coal by FY2015
  • Commence export production by FY2012
  • Secure rail and port access for export and other markets
  • Continuation of coal supply to the local power stations and for continuation of supply to other domestic destinations
